High School Summer Spanish Immersion Program

The 2005 summer Spanish immersion program for high school students is a
life-changing experience that is specifically designed for teenagers interested in
expanding their cultural boundaries and Spanish knowledge while
demonstrating leadership through community service. Students are brought
into a completely safe, enriching environment where they live the Spanish
language and discover the charming culture of the people in the heart of Mexico,
living it 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The school is small and intimate, based in a typical Mexican home, offering
comfort and personalized attention. We are located in the historical central
district of colonial Puebla, Mexico, within walking distance to hundreds of
beautiful, intriguing and historic sites.

Each day we meet in small groups for an intensive Spanish language taught in
a natural way, rich in communication and interaction. What is unique about the
immersion experience is that when class is over, the Spanish you face has just
started. We match explorations, interaction and community service into the
program. Afternoon activities include cooking, Latin dancing, ceramics, group
games, Spanish cinema, site-seeing, excursions to sites of interest around
Puebla and service projects with underprivileged children and community
members.

We keep safety first, by strictly enforcing rules and codes of conduct that are
anything but optional for the students. Students will have a certain freedom
during their stay, choosing to explore a variety of different interests, always
adequately supervised and chaperoned. We issue each student a calling card
and a student ID card that includes their residence address and phone number,
emergency contact numbers, 24-hour direct contact numbers with the school
director and staff as well as a 24-hour tourist hotline in case any problem
should arise.

In addition to the scheduled activities, there are an abundance of other activities
students may participate in at an additional cost.
